We’re almost there, and we need your help to cross the finish-line. Please join us on March 29th for a fundraiser hosted by Pan American Bank, East Los Angeles' premier community bank. Founded and headquartered in East LA, Pan American is California's oldest Latino-owned bank, and seeks to transform and empower Latino communities through banking relationships built on trust, service, respect, communication, and guidance. All casino night proceeds will benefit Cityhood for East LA -- $100 ticket includes gaming chips, light buffet, refreshments, and host bar at Pan American's historic Whittier Boulevard branch. The formation of the future City of East Los Angeles officially started with 16,000 residents signing a petition to officially begin the Cityhood process. The Los Angeles Local Agency Formation Commission is now preparing to conduct a Comprehensive Fiscal Analysis (CFA), a required next step toward Cityhood. The cost of the CFA to our community is approximately $134,000. The study will provide the most detailed and in-depth financial analysis of East LA since 1974. It has been over 30 years since such an extensive study was conducted on our community's economy – unfortunately, the burden of funding this study has been placed on the residents of East LA themselves.

If we miss this fundraising deadline, we may not find out East LA’s financial viability in time. We have to act NOW to keep our momentum. Please do your part by contributing to Cityhood, and helping us complete this expensive, required step. Over 500 individual donors have given towards this study, many people giving between $5 and $20. Your support at this fundraiser could help us cross the finish-line!

Our Initial Fiscal Analysis (IFA) was completed in 2007, demonstrating that a prospective City of East LA would in fact be financially viable, with projected revenues at $51 million and expenditures of $45 million. We know that East LA has what it takes to serve its residents and local businesses. Join Pan American Bank in supporting Cityhood for East LA, and take part in this fun casino night fundraiser for a great cause. Let's move East LA forward together!
