The campaign to form the future City of East Los Angeles got underway in 2008, with 16,000 residents signing a petition to seek a Comprehensive Fiscal Analysis (CFA) for our community. This study is required to demonstrate our East LA's fiscal viability. It has been over 30 years since such an extensive study was conducted on our community's economy – unfortunately, this study will cost $134,000, and the burden of funding this study has been placed on the residents of East LA themselves.

If we miss this fundraising deadline, we may not find out East LA’s financial viability in time. An extension would mean many more months, maybe even years before the residents of East LA vote whether or not to form a city in our community. We have momentum NOW, and with your help, we can reach our goal.
